Hello to everyone who visits and reads my thoughts.  I am putting out a call for your help and suggestions.

I am really anxious and excited about having my own brand of shampoo, conditioner and body wash to release.  It is completely natural, no icky stuff whatsoever!  It is earth friendly in every way right down to the label, it is health conscious and effective, smells nice without having nasty fragrance stuff in it!  Now the question, what on earth should I name it?

I really need some suggestions, because so far every name I have come up with, my strategist HATES.  I want to bring it out.  I want to make this fantastic product available for people to be able to enjoy the positive effects and know that this product does everything right for the earth and for those of us who still need it to be around for our children and their children.

Please take a moment and send me ideas.  reseller@whatsinstore.ca is the e-mail address.

I look forward to many fantastic ideas.

First, welcome to 2010!  May it be more than we could hope for and may we give much more than we take from each other and the planet.

Okay, with a title like "Ask It Five Times" you might think I'm going to write about my kids and their persistence with asking something over and over until they get the answer that they want.  Well, that is no where near what I'm thinking about tonight.

I met with a wonderful business associate who is helping me to make a difference in how I approach business.  He asked me why I want to be in business.  I of course replied with the usual starry-eyed answer...."I want to save the planet".  He asked why I want to be in business....I answered "to encourage people to choose healthier products that aren't full of chemicals".  He asked again, why I want to be in business....I felt kind of on the spot, like I was expected to give the "right" answer....but again spoke from the heart, "I want to make a difference"  He asked again, why I want to be in business..."I want to help the children who don't get to decide what products are used on them....by educating their parents and caregivers and providing better products to choose."  Finally, with all of my passion pouring out and my pulse quickening, thinking I'd missed something somewhere he pointed out to me that in order to keep doing the things that I am doing I needed to want to be in business to make money.  Then he asked me why I needed to make money....I understood immediately:  "to keep doing it."

For so long I had been ignoring that factor.  Not wanting it to be the reason for being on my noble quest...but, in all honesty, it is the thing that will enable me to do much more.  Surprisingly, I started to think about what amazing other ventures I could take on once What's In Store dot ca really blossomed!  The ways I could make changes that were truly significant!  The opportunities to teach my children and all the people around me that we can make so many differences that improve things for many if we really let our passions be led with purpose.  When you take a moment to look at your passion, take a moment to dream about where it could lead you...  It's exhilarating!  It's exciting!  It's possible!  Then I realized that there was nothing wrong with my business becoming successful financially because that would lead to being a greater part of the solution.....which, of course, is my favourite reason for wanting to be in business.

So, thank you to those who choose to actively support companies, like www.whatsinstore.ca in the effort to do more about the problems our planet faces.  Cheers to you!

I often speak to people in my family and friends circle about how hard it is to compete in this ever growing industry.  I research and find companies out there that are doing fantastic work to produce products that I would be proud to promote.  I try to find the best methods to be able to buy them for resale and not have to charge high rates for them....but, alas, I am in competition with other great retailers who have that same goal and motivation, so I have the age old issue of trying to compete.

Then, one day, my son said to me, "well, why don't you have your own stuff then?"  Amazing how children can see through all the stuff that adults can't seem to scrape out of the view finder!  So, that is what I'm now considering!

I've been communicating with some fantastic minds in this industry who understand that I want more than just another organic product, I want sustainable, completely conscious, with no reason to question anything, I want it all....right down to the label!

I'll keep you posted!  It may happen sooner than we think!

Wish me luck!

Okay, so here I am going to simplify things.  My recommendations.  The suggested items you would want to have if you were to convert your home/life to greener, healthier, simpler.  These recommendations are, of course, based upon my research into greener, healthier products!!!

1.  Benefect Multi Purpose Cleaner and Disinfectant (getting these in 4L jugs means you likely won't need to replenish for a couple of years!  You dilute the Multi-Purpose Cleaner and won't use much disinfectant in your home.)

2.  Ecover Dishwasher Detergent and Liquid Dish Soap

3.  Ecover Laundry Detergent and Fabric Softener and some dryer balls would be a great idea too!

4.  A Microfibre Glass Cloth and a few General Purpose Cloths (These work well with water and for stubborn areas work great with a little Benefect Light Solution).

5.  If you really want to go to the top of the greener lifestyle, ask us about the food digester that we are planning to bring into the store too!  Less work than composting, same great benefits!

There, now your home is set.  Ecover is a great product line (plant derived ingredients and very effective products).  Benefect products are so good that they are used in restoration after fire and flood and they are 100% sustainable!  100% chemical free!  Feel free to read more about these and more products at www.whatsinstore.ca under the Home and Office Care tab.

Now, what about taking care of you and your family?

1.  Green Beaver makes a fantastic organic body wash, shampoo & conditioner!  I also like their skin care line for my dry skin.  Druide makes a fantastic hair gel and hair spray that has been eco-cert approved!

2.  If you have oily skin, I would suggest the Bare Organic Line.

3.  For deodorant I would recommend the Crystal Rock - no harmful aluminum*

4.  If you have a baby in your household, I would highly suggest the G-diaper; convenient, compostable, earth friendly and the inserts are even certified Cradle to Cradle!

5.  Other baby care items available at www.whatsinstore.ca include the organic cotton wipes and complementing solution, and a lovely baby soap from Bare Organics.  Druide also makes some wonderful body wash.

6.  Mineral Makeup from Pure Anada is also available through www.whatsinstore.ca and it is fantastic!  We do also have a natural mascara and liquid liner available.  Please inquire for more information about these items, because we have not uploaded them to the site yet.  reseller@whatsinstore.ca

So, there you have it....now you can take care of your personal grooming needs all in one stop.

Okay, so here's the thing...I really want feedback.  I need your help to know what I am not doing well.  I have seen many people visit this blog, and my site, and I want to know what prevents you from picking products that you want for yourself.  Have you got information about these products that I don't know?  Are you not comfortable changing what you have always used?  Do you not believe there is a need to change?

Please comment.  I really would appreciate the feedback.  Having the online site is useless if people are not getting what they need from it.

Thank you for your feedback in advance.
