Have you ever been working with someone who seems to completely focus on a narrow point of thinking?  Have you looked at them with complete wonder how they could not even shift their eyes to see outside of that tunnel?

I've experienced this recently.  I have, for the first time, really seen a person so convinced that their programming is to be followed to the letter so much so that I really believe that thinking outside of it has never even occurred.

Sadly, I think I was like that a few years ago too.  Not so much that I believed that what I was taught was the only way to think, but rather that whatever came into that small tunnel I looked down must be good, safe and effective.  Here I am talking about how much advertising and marketing used to affect me.  I would see an ad for a new and improved cleaning device on TV and would so easily be convinced that it would make me enjoy things more, clean better or whatever!  It took some serious bubbles bursting for me to start to shift my eyes....no...I shook my head!  That's what I did, I started looking for bigger pictures, asking questions, being concerned and needing those companies to prove themselves and their claims.

My rambling today is just a nudge, a suggestion, a little voice in the back of your head saying "hey, don't believe everything you hear or read....sometimes it is just the wording that is making you think it is going to enhance your life....sadly, it likely won't".

Now, ask questions, demand better, don't settle for less than you deserve!  Live clean, live green, care for the earth and those who live here....'cause remember....that includes you and if you have any kids....them too.

I want to see change.  I want to know that when children go to daycare or school they are not walking into a room that is duly wiped and sponged and sprayed with chemicals that cause them harm!  I want to see change.  I want, as a parent, to know that the people responsible for educating and guiding my children when they are away from me care about what they are exposed to.  I want to see change.  I want to know that I am getting through to the decision makers, the people who have the power to choose whether the toys and desks and everything around the children in our country are covered in harmful toxins or in botanicals that come from the earth and cause no harm.

I want to see change.  I want to make a difference.  I care.  I think that those decision makers care.  I hope that I will be able to convey the benefits well enough that they will see the need to take the time to consider it.

Wish me luck.

This is a concept that I recently started to explore.  I don't know how many of you seasoned green people out there already are aware of this....great if you are!  I would LOVE your feedback and suggestions of things to look into.  I think this is a fantastic, and highly overdue way to look at things that we do, make, use, etc.

Basically, for those of you who are new to this like I am, I understand this to mean that companies (at least those certified Cradle to Cradle) are making the greatest effort in green.  It appears that these companies are looking beyond the idea that everything should be able to not affect the planet while we are here, but instead they are looking at making things, doing things, that are not going to harm the earth for generations to come.  We apparently used to aim for Cradle to Grave which didn't take the future that much into consideration.  These new ways of thinking are looking at ways that what we do today can make a better tomorrow for the next generation to come from a cradle.  Beautiful!

I love the trend the world is moving toward:  the greener companies, the green conscious consumer, the recycler, the packaging-concerned individuals, the government (when they jump in), everyone seems to be making small steps and some are taking leaps of faith into a better world.  We should be proud!  I am enjoying a new sunny day - full of hope, faith and a belief that we are really headed on the right road.  It may be a long road because of our blinders from before....but at least the direction seems clear.

Keep it up fellow green people.

Oh, one last thing....I'm going to try to find as many Cradle to Cradle items I can to add to my shop (I've already got the G-diaper on there).  I would highly recommend anyone with an infant to take a look and get acquainted with these!
