Recently my son heard a report on the radio that said that those of us who dye our hair are more likely to acquire certain types of blood cancers.  When he found out that I knew this information he asked me why would I keep doing it then?  HOW DO YOU ANSWER THAT?!

Then I started to think about the number of times I've heard people complain that "with all the money we have raised for cancer research, why are only 60% surviving?"  This made me think...Why, with all of the knowledge and available information we have about the chemicals that cause things like cancer in our makeup, skin care, hair care, cleaning supplies, etc., etc., do we choose to keep using them...especially when there are real options available to us?

Perhaps, we should spend less time waiting on cures and more time taking steps to avoid the causes!

Wow!  I have been doing a lot of research as of late on the whole Mineral Makeup/natural skincare thing.  It really does amaze me that for this long companies have been allowed to sell us products that are loaded with untested chemicals.  Scary really.  But what I found scarier than that was the simple fact that I, as a consumer, never questioned it.

I used products throughout my life based strictly on whether the packaging was attractive, the promises were inticing or the product itself felt, looked, or smelled really appealing.  Since I have been researching and reading more and checking things out on sites like ewg.org and safecosmetics.com I have really become driven to find something better.

The really amazing news is that it does exist!  I have found Canadian companies that are run by caring individuals who have done their homework and have made great products that provide all the things the scary makeups do, but without the harm!  The skin care line I have switched to taught me that the old adage of cleanse, tone, mosturize is not necessarily anything more than overprocessing our already stressed skin.

I am very glad to have found these companies and now promote them actively in my webstore.   I thought others might want to see the little video clip made on this subject, so I attached it here:
