I would like to reflect on a meeting I had with people that I had prejudged - as much as I hate to admit that I did...I did. I went in to the meeting with the belief that if they were from my father's generation they would all think like he did. I went into the meeting expecting opposition and that I would have to stand alone against them all to ensure social justice or something like that. I felt alone and unarmed really because I had not done my homework before this meeting.
Well, shame on me! I realized quite early in the meeting that these people are all very wonderful people, (this is something I failed to include in the equation from the beginning.) They are all, just like me, wanting to do the right thing for all involved. To consider everyone when making final decisions. Growing up with such a wonderful, yet strongly opinionated and stubborn dad, I expected and wrote many things off to "of that generation". Well, I sat in silence and awe at how small my mind was at that moment for underestimating this fantastic group of people. Not just because they saw it the same way as me, but because they had done their homework and blew me away!
Next, I got to spend some time walking a Labyrinth with many of those same individuals. What an amazing revelation that walk provided me too. First, as always happens, I started to think about how much I miss my dad (he died Christmas night 2006) then my thoughts shifted...by the time I reached the centre, I had a wonderful sense of not being alone. I actually looked at all the little stressors I have been facing lately and realized I have not been alone. Not only did I feel the spiritual sense of oneness, but the people in my life really have shown me I am not alone.
Thanks to all of those people. It's really good to realize I still have so much to learn.

I have been thinking about the pleasures and conveniences of modern life. We, here in North America, certainly do enjoy an array of these things. We have our share of luxury items, fine wines and a variety of flavourful foods and ready made dishes at our convenience. Only in the recent past have we started to place many of these luxuries into the category of either unhealthy, fatening or just reminded ourselves that all things should be in moderation.
Recently, I met a lady who represents an organization which is set up to bring us yet another alternative to the less healthy choices we are surrounded by in our grocery stores: she sells organic foods! Well, I of course requested a catalogue, because our family plans to take the pledge to become at least 10% organic in our eating habits. It's true that some of these things that are better for us cost more up front, but the health benefits outweigh that in the long run.
It has been quite a year of discovery. Just this passed year I have turned to organic skin care, mineral makeup (not the kind that fake it either!), biodegradable and chemical free cleaning and now my eating habits are next!
It is somewhat of a mission for me these days to let others know that they too can make small changes to make healthier choices.

Okay, so here's the thing...I really want feedback. I need your help to know what I am not doing well. I have seen many people visit this blog, and my site, and I want to know what prevents you from picking products that you want for yourself. Have you got information about these products that I don't know? Are you not comfortable changing what you have always used? Do you not believe there is a need to change?
Please comment. I really would appreciate the feedback. Having the online site is useless if people are not getting what they need from it.
Thank you for your feedback in advance.

I have created a group on Facebook to encourage people to have open discussions about products and activities, etc that have an impact on the environment. I am hopeful that this will get people sharing ideas and challenging each other to think, educate themselves and grow in a more responsible way with regards to our well being and that of our planet.
I would remind everyone that just because someone says something is true, doesn't mean that you have to believe them. In fact, I think it would be fantastic if real discussion were presented that made us all a little more provoked to thought - not to anger though - this is not a place to fight about differing beliefs. We all have choices to make, many of which may result in negative consequences, but as a wonderful friend of mine said "we have to balance the risk with the benefits to make our choices" or something like that. I would agree that it is true - we all have to figure out what it is we believe in our own lives and minds. We are NOT always going to agree. Sometimes we have to agree to disagree - because the best thing for the environment is that we all get along.
I hope to see some serious input from those who visit this blog. Let's open up some discussion and help each other explore, educate, and grow in an environmentally friendly place :)
The group is called: Environmentally Friendly and Health Conscious
Hope it is easy to find for you - let me know if it is not, please.

Okay, so it is obvious that I have been on a "kick" lately about finding option for a cleaner planet and a healthier list of options for us! I don't know if anyone who reads these blogs has ever visited my site or not. Honestly, I'm not really all that sure of how people even find this blog on the Internet, so I can't be sure that people realize that I sell things online. Sad, I know....but at least I'm honest :)
Anyway, recently I was introduced to another amazing Canadian-made product that is the most versatile cleaning product I have ever seen! It is made from Kelp and it is biodegradable, made with enzymes and so safe and so effective it truly blew me away!
Needless to say....I am now adding it to my store! The product is simply called Pink Solution (which is kind of a funny name, because it is not pink).
To see all the other products that I have discovered and stand on my soap box shouting to the world about "hey everybody! You don't have to buy that harmful stuff!!! I have found the good stuff that works and won't cause hideous health issues for you and your kids or our planet!!!"
Now, I guess I just have to wait to hear from those of you who want those options.
I really am curious though....how do you find my blog? Can someone please tell me how they came to end up hear reading my random thoughts? Or should I say rants. :)
